It all really started on Valentines Day when Grace woke up with a fever of 101.5. So we had to take her to the doctor and then back again on Tuesday. Then on Tuesday on the way to the pharmacy I was rear ended. Fortunately everyone is ok, confirmed by another trip to the doctor. The damage isn’t bad and it’s more of a hassle then anything but who needs something else to do when you have a 5 month old and are trying to finish grad school. Then on Friday I started to get a cold but after waking up on Monday feeling like I had been hit by a truck I decided I better go to the doctor. Come to find out I have a sinus infection and bronchitis. The worst part is I’m very limited as to what I can take since I’m nursing but the Amoxicillin seems to be helping. Unfortunately the other medication I need I have to wait 6 hours after taking it before I can nurse but we are working that out with a combination of nursing and using frozen breast milk and formula. (Yes, Grace had her first bottle of formula yesterday and didn’t even complain.) Hopefully I’ll be able to go off that in the next day or so after I can breathe again.
It was also a rather unfortunate week for the deer on Grace’s activity mat as she figured out how to remove the head. Noel and I have questioned the wisdom of the toy designers. They chose a deer head of all things to detach from the mat. My question is why not a flower?
Tomorrow Grace gets her second set of shots. Wish us luck!!
