Happy Birthday Grace!

September 24, 2009 was Grace's first birthday! We celebrated by having a lasagna dinner and with a few friends. Grace seemed to know that all the fuss was for her and very much enjoyed being the center of attention. The day before her birthday I made her cake. She was glued to the oven watching it bake. I also decorated the house for her birthday and all day she would point to the decorations and "tell" me about them.

Grace surprisingly did not like her cake. Well I guess she is taking after her mother who also does not care for cake. It might have something to do with the way it was presented though. We turned out the lights and lit the candle and all sang "Happy Birthday." Then when the lights came on she had a cake in front of her and everyone was staring. She cried a little and didn't even try her cake until people stopped looking.

She was definitely spoiled.

Though unwrapping wasn't all that interesting she did like the toys. The cell phone was a big hit.

We also had uncle Bryson here visiting for the week after her birthday. I"ll have to figure out how to get pictures off my phone but here are a couple. Bryson taught Grace how to play putt-putt golf.
